Orly Friedman

School Advisor

Orly Friedman is the Founder of Red Bridge School, a new K-8 school in San Francisco with a mission to develop a sense of agency in every child as the foundation for academic and life success. Earlier in her career, Orly spent five years teaching elementary school in Washington DC. She moved to California to get her MBA at Stanford, after which she joined the founding team of Khan Lab School and worked there for four years, serving as Head of Lower School and Assistant Head of School. Orly also holds a BA in Urban Studies/Affairs from Yale University and a MA in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from George Mason University.

Theodore Ma

Innovation Advisor

Theodore Ma is the co-founder of CoCoon, one of the largest entrepreneurship communities in Hong Kong with over 1200 members and alumni. CoCoon helps to bridge the business innovation community with the startup community through hosting startup events, developing entrepreneurship education and angel investing.

Theodore earned his Masters in E-Commerce & Internet Computing from the University of Hong Kong and his BA in Communication with a minor in Computer Science from Stanford University. He is the Board Chairman of the Stanford Club of Hong Kong, Member of the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board, Member of the HKMA/TVB Marketing Awards Organizing Committee, Member of the HKTDC Jewellery Advisory Committee, Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation and Member of the HKU Careers Advisory Board.

Larry Rosenstock

School Advisor

Larry Rosenstock is CEO and founding principal of High Tech High, a network of sixteen K-12 public charter schools in California, and is the Special Advisor to the President of the HTH Graduate School of Education. Larry taught carpentry in urban high schools in Boston and Cambridge and was principal of the Rindge School of Technical Arts, and of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.  A member of the Massachusetts and U.S. Supreme Court Bars, he served as an attorney at the Harvard Center for Law and Education, and was an instructor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and at the University Of California at Berkeley. He directed the federal New Urban High School Project. Larry and his work have been featured on Oprah, Lehrer, Newsweek, and Forbes. He is a winner of the Ford Foundation Innovations in State and Local Government Award, is an Ashoka Fellow, was awarded the McGraw Prize in Education and is the 2019 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Laureate.

Andrew Kwan

School Supervisor

Andrew has a BA in Economics from Harvard University and two Masters degrees from Stanford University in Computer Science and Management Science & Engineering. He founded Outwhiz, an adaptive online and mobile education platform for K-12 students, with a mission to create math practice programs that both students and parents would love. Andrew is a pioneer in applying technology to improve education. In addition to Outwhiz, he founded Edore, an open, online education platform to help students connect learning with their real lives and interests.

Previously, he was in charge of software performance at Yahoo's homepage and built various software systems at SugarSync. He is currently a Strategic Advisor and Venture Partner of CoCoon, and the Founder and CEO of Delight Global, which focuses on using voice assistant technology to improve business functionality. Andrew is also President of the Stanford Club of Hong Kong and Advisory Council Member of the Stanford Bing Overseas Studies Program.
